About one block before coming to the place where the previous photo was taken, at the end of Erie Road, or the East side of Colchester, we find a ravine. This picture is from 1915, and we can see the steep steps on the left. It must have been partially modified by highway works. When I lived there, Erie Road ended at Highway 18A, but the east end was a little furthere south, and a guard rail separated the road from the ravine, which I never dared to go down. It suffered severe damage during a storm. I take this to be what is shown as Kiles Drain in among the photos here of the big 1989 storm.
